Yet another January Tornado warning last night....
So, here in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky there were more tornado warnings out and about last night (actually, it was for just across the river in southern IN but who's picking nits?)

When I was growing up, I remember snowmen, snow days, weeks and weeks of cold winter weather.

This marks about 3 years in a row with at least one tornado warning in the month of January. I can't recall ever having them before (at least nowhere near this consistently) in my 41 years of living here.

It's getting to the point that it doesn't matter what month it is, a tornado warning is a possibility. We've had them recently at Thanksgiving, near Christmas, and a New Year's tornado a couple years ago in southern IN just across the river.

But, hey, don't let a trend of anecdotal stories throw y'all. There really is no global warming. These last few winters have just been a few "bad apples".

*sigh*

1. Yeah weird weather here
Tennessee - up to 60 mph winds all day yesterday and a tornado warning! 50-60 degree weather a couple of days, now back to 23F.

Tornadoes also in California, wasn't it last week?

2. It is quite lovely here in Michigan too.

The wind is blowing about 50 miles per hour. It snowed but there is none on the ground. I think the wind blew it all the way to the east coast. About a week and a half ago it was 65 degrees out for a few days. I hope you are alright down there in Kentucky. It is my second favorite state after Michigan!!

On edit: It was 49 degrees here yesterday and it is now about 5 degrees not including the wind chill. Global warming rocks! Ugh.

4. We had big wind here in South Missouri yesterday
Blew the roof off of some apartments in town and knocked down some construction sites framework.

Our temps went from 68 degrees to 29 in just a couple of hours.

7. Oh, heck no!
We've had the occasional t-storm in winter or "thunder snow" but tornado warnings this consistently? Never this time of year like this.
