At least, that's what Mike Barnacle surmised this morning on Joe. McCain is very unpopular with conservatives but because he's been proven to have lied about Hillary's war stance (among other things) Republicans felt more comfortable voting for him because it proved he was a maverick.

Even Joe pointed out that being a liar is not a good thing (although it got Joe pretty far in life), and that's a pretty sorry reason to vote for McCain, but they had to find some sort of shovel with which to heap on this "maverick" crap. McCain or Romney...oh dear lord, I shudder to think. Good thing that this year even a Ham Sandwich could win the general election as long as had a (D) next to it, because I cannot imagine four years under either of those two horrible, lying, flip-flopping, say-anything douche bags.

2. It wouldn't be the first time they've voted for a known liar.
They did so gleefully in 2004, decked in their finest Purple Heart band-aids. Actually, they seem to prefer voting for liars.

4. Of course they prefer liars
Because dealing with the truth would destroy their reality, in their alternate universe!

3. Romney's now spouting
the same thing the Democratic runners are: Change Washington

Probably too late for him to use that tactic.

Yeah, what a field they have to choose from.
War monger. (that's probably his real strength for the freepers)
Mormon.
Cross dresser.
Religious fanatic.

Those choices would sure leave me scratching my head.

5. He's no maverick (I keep shouting at the TV but apparently they are deaf as doorknobs--go figure)...
He's voted the way DoubleDip wanted him to nearly every single time while putting up a jolly good front for the MSM and the sheeple.

McCain will do ANYTHING to be president and has since the 1980s--that includes abandoning both his family and his principles and doing exactly as he's told by the RNC powers-that-be while putting up that "maverick (ptooey!)" front.

Stop him, someone, PLEASE. I've done nearly all I can since the 1980s...

Those chickens haven't hatched - so don't count 'em. I never though bush would be nominated in 2000, then I never thought he would "win", and look what happened.

8. Lying & plagiarism are also republicon propagandista Barnicle's stock in trade
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 10:03 AM by SpiralHawk
Barnicle, the republicon homelander propagandist, got shamed and then canned from The Boston Globe for his plagiarism and propagandizing -- so I suppose that like the other highly paid republicon mouthpieces, he is an expert on lying...
