Romney on McCain: “Willing to say anything to try and get elected.”
http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/01/28/romney-on-mccain-willing-to-say-anything-to-try-and-get-elected/

Governor Mitt Romney had another airport rally here — he is crisscrossing the state scrambling for every vote, on the eve of the Florida primary. He is in a dead-heat here with his rival, Senator John McCain. He has been attacking his opponent all day on legislation that he has co-sponsored and what Romney sees as a lack of understanding of economic policy.

After the rally, he appeared on America’s Newsroom where he told Megyn Kelly that John McCain is “willing to say anything to try and get elected. He’s been looking for this job for a long, long time.”
Romney accused his opponent of being a flip-flopper:

“Senator McCain was against the Bush tax cuts and now he’s for the Bush tax cuts. He was against ethanol, then for ethanol, then against ethanol.”

A pretty shocking charge coming from the former Massachusetts governor who has been attacked for changing his views on abortion. His rivals also charge that he is a flip-flopper who has shifted positions on illegal immigration, tax cuts, and gay rights.

4. and guns
he's gone from strict gun control (not that I mind that) to being "a lifelong hunter"

You know he's never picked up anything more than a .22, and shot the odd rat if he's lucky.

6. Don't worry, folks
Mitt just slipped up for a moment there. The "say anything" trope is only to be used against Democrats. It'll get straightened out real quick, don't you worry. Whatever a Republican says today represents their heart-felt, bottom line, eternal conviction. Until tomorrow, when it could all change completely. Then you're supposed to forget about what they said yesterday. Because Republicans are just that kind of take-charge steely-eyed guys you want to have a beer with.

8. Romney is so done, he's such a smarmy asshole it's hard to believe anyone would cast
a vote for him. How does anyone look him and not think he's a total weasel?

9. Accuse your opponent of whatever you are doing.
Classic Republican tactic. I wonder if Rove is advising him...
