It's really not that hard to be nice to someone
I have seen the bloodbath that we call GD Primaries and, over my time here, ass kicking threads here on GD.

Last night I was as depressed as I could be (for personal reasons I won't go into here) and found myself on a thread with someone I did not agree with. They were upset with some ads here, and I told them to just hide them. Then I realized they couldn't as they did not have a star.

I felt like a jerk in some ways, so I donated in their name so they could have a star - even though I am broke and out of work. And I apologized to them.

So often I see here folks ripping each others' asses over some stupid primary shit. We don't need that.

I come here because of wonderful posters I see each day. SwampRat, Kpete, etc and so on. People who take time out of their lives to make our lives a little better - a little more informed.

We all want the same things, a better America, health care, etc and so on. There is no reason for us to be hateful to one another. It really is not that hard to be nice to each other - even when we disagree.

Take a minute to walk in someone else's shoes. And I will as well. I don't know what it is like to be gay, black, female, etc. And you don't know what it is to be me and going through what I am right now.

It is not really all that hard to be nice to someone else.

1. Good post.
We are behind keyboards, and we write things that we probably would never say to someone else face-to-face. We all need to remember your wise words.

14. Damned straight
I doubt many here would say the same things they do online face to face. Sad.

3. What a kind thing for you to do, TSS
And you're right. We don't truly know what it's like in someone else's shoes, and we might be surprised when we do find out what's going on with someone.

we see most of the time here. To be expected for what this board is I guess, but it gets carried away quite often.

Your words are kind, thoughtful and very truthful; words & thoughts we should all remember from time to time. I am as guilty as anyone, maybe not but I fall and try to catch myself but it is hard not to play in the game here.

A nice post and thanks for helping us to remember to be a little more thoughtful.

6. How True, Straight Story!
It's been pretty heated in here, and it gave me a good feeling reading your post. By the way, you are one of the wonderful posters here and one of the reasons I keep on reading.

You happen to be one of those DUers - ya know, people who just don't get it through their heads how important they are around here.

We LOVE you, SS - get with the program!

17. U know I wonder about the "ignore" as even though I have taken on some
pretty heavy tones from some at times, I have never used the ignore button. I just choose to respond or not respond and no problems. Was wondering what good it really does.

16. I'm not in the mood right now.
I have spent MONTHS reading nasty, ugly shit by the Obama supporters and the Hillary supporters. I NEVER ONE time posted anything in Hillary or Obama threads, no matter how tempted I was to answer various idiots. No matter the ugliness. No matter the insane sliming stupidity. I NEVER interfered with their stupid crap. I left them alone to their preposterous fights out of courtesy, and not caring to feed any fires.

Tonight, people are pushing pointed sticks into the eyes of Edwards supporters, making stupid pronouncements, assuming support should automatically go to HC or BO.

Tonight, I cannot endure the fools and asshats. I've been nice and courteous all this time. Tonight, I'm not ready to make nice. My courtesy has been worn to the quick by asses.

Hard to remember that sometimes, but it's true.
