Seattle Talk Radio Listeners: Hosts Fired

BlatherWatch has just posted that liberal hosts David Goldstein and Carl Jeffers, both weekend hosts, have been axed for due to "budget cuts". Carl Jeffers is widely known beyond Seattle for his work on other radio stations and his commentary on CNN and MSNBC.

1. If true, it doesn't sound like a neocon conspiracy. Seattle isn't exactly a hotbed for Pubbies.

4. Far as I'm concerned, KIRO went to the dogs when they fired
Erin Hart. The only person still worth listening to on that station is Dave Ross. KIRO has pretty much been FOXified.

6. Really?
Do you intern for one of the hosts, or is it in a different area?

7. No one specific, just in the main news room.

A lot of grunt work, which includes pulling cuts from pre-recorded things like speeches, interviews, that sort of thing, and doing pre-writes on a lot of stories (which the reporters then fic to their specs. before using them on-air). They play a live feed into the news room, and I always enjoyed listening to Goldstein.

8. Is Dori Monson as big an asshole as he plays on the radio?
Don't know him in person but he seems like 100% jerk on his show and on Seahawks broadcasts.

12. Ross has been a mainstay at KIRO for a long time.
If KIRO has any semblence of a brain left, they will NOT fire him.
