EXCLUSIVE: MYSTERIOUS CRIMES-PLAGUE US ATTORNEY TARGETS - Larisa Alexandrovna
Edited on Thu May-01-08 10:37 AM by kpete
Break-ins plague targets of US Attorneys-
Larisa Alexandrovna, Muriel Kane and Lindsay Beyerstein
Published: Thursday May 1, 2008

The Permanent Republican Majority Part VI

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – In two states where US attorneys are already under fire for serious allegations of political prosecutions, seven people associated with three federal cases have experienced 10 suspicious incidents including break-ins and arson.

These crimes raise serious questions about possible use of deliberate intimidation tactics not only because of who the victims are and the already wide criticism of the prosecutions to begin with, but also because of the suspicious nature of each incident individually as well as the pattern collectively. Typically burglars do not break-into an office or private residence only to rummage through documents, for example, as is the case with most of the burglaries in these two federal cases.

In Alabama, for instance, the home of former Democratic Governor Don Siegelman was burglarized twice during the period of his first indictment. Nothing of value was taken, however, and according to the Siegelman family, the only items of interest to the burglars were the files in Siegelman's home office.

Siegelman's attorney experienced the same type of break-in at her office.

................

The incidents are not limited to burglaries. In Mississippi, former Judge John Whitfield was the victim of arson at his office. In Alabama, the whistleblower in the Don Siegelman case, Dana Jill Simpson, had her home burned down, and shortly thereafter her car was allegedly forced off the road.

While there is no direct evidence linking these crimes to the US Attorneys’ office targeting these individuals, or to the Bush administration, there is a distinct pattern that makes it highly unlikely that these incidents are isolated and unrelated.

All of these crimes remain unsolved.

7. Just look at the Bushites' client state, Colombia, for the pattern of bullying,
intimidation, threats and murder--against protesters, union leaders, small peasant farmers, political leftists, human rights workers and journalists--whoever might get in the way of global corporate predators and the greedy, unconscionable profits of the rich, whether by licit or illicit production and trade, and whoever might expose their crimes. This is the sort of government the Bushites prefer. They are somewhat better at covering up some of their crimes than the Colombians are, but they are of the same ilk. And this, of course, is why they've larded $5.5 BILLION of our tax dollars on this mini-Bush Junta in Colombia, as their wedge of Bushite tactics against the overwhelming leftist, democratic, peaceful, social justice trend in South America. There would be an overwhelming leftist trend here as well, if we had transparent elections, and in Colombia, if they didn't murder the opposition. And frankly I think the Bushites have murdered people here--Paul Wellstone, for one; the 3,000+ people who died in the WTC and the Pentagon on 9/11; possibly Mel Carnahan (Senate candidate whose small plane also fell out of the air; MI voters then elected the dead Carnahan--back in the days when our votes were still counted in public view--rather than John Ashcroft; and the Bush Junta appointed Ashcroft A.G.). Then there are the 1.2 million innocent people slaughtered in Iraq, and more in Afghanistan; and the tortured prisoners. The Bush Junta is Colombia writ large, across the great world.

This is a horror we must face honestly and bravely, and keep plugging away at restoring our democracy, as the South Americans have done. They have seen extraordinary horror perpetrated by the Reaganites and Bushites, and have emerged with determination to establish democratic, justice, peace and sovereignty. They should be an inspiration to us, if we can see past the intense Bushite/corporate news propaganda against this remarkable revolution. Their leftist leaders were thrown out of airplanes, rounded up, brutally tortured and raped, and 'disappeared"--thousands of them--in one country (Guatemala) verging on genocide (200,000 Mayan indians slaughtered), with the complicity of a U.S. regime that is very similar to this one, and includes some of the same players. It's a wonder that the South Americans don't hate us, but they really don't. These days, I think they pity us--the people of the U.S.--because they see that we are not free, and our democracy is in ruins, while there, in South America, democracy is succeeding at long last. In any case, we need to re-learn the basics: transparent elections, grass roots organization, and something very important: think big. Don't let the fascist limit your ideas of what is possible.

It is well past time that Congress appointed a Special Prosecutor for Seigelman and others and also time to send Federal Marshals into Alabama and Mississippi to protect these people and their families.

17. Put Simpson in a Witness protection program!!
What the hell are people thinking. Jill Simpson, like those who blow the whistle on the Mafia (same thing as US government under Bush), should be put in a witness protection program.

20. Nixon was a lightweight.
He only had his plumbers operating out of the White House.

Bush and Cheney have installed teams of criminals, apparently, throughout the entire Justice Department.

22. Check out "Silent Coup". I'm reading it now. It confirms
alot about what I suspected: Nixon may have been brought down by Bushie type ultra-rightists.
It is really weird. Nixon did jump-start Salt II, a Kennedy creation, and the "ping-pong" diplomacy with China. Reagan shitcanned Salt II like it was the plague. Nixon also started the Drug Enforcement Agency which threatened the CIA's involvement in the illegal drug trade. Did Nixon get consumed by a bigger Octopus?

Way back in the early 90's when I first brushed through the book I thought it was a defense of Nixon and didn't want to hear it, but now it seems to ring alot truer.

It of course, in no way, has reduced my negative sentiments toward Nixon, Watergate, etc.

29. I've noted this also....

There was a lengthy article published in the Asia Times which pointed out how Bush Senior and his associates wanted to maintain a state of war between mainland China and Taiwan. They also used China as a cheap manufacturer of weapons which ended up with the mujahadeen. The neocons' "strategy of tension" may have started way back then, and could have been the reason for allowing Nixon to be pushed out of office. There was also the assassination attempt against Reagan, who was cutting defense budgets and closing down bases at the end of the Cold War.
