Tarpon Springs, Florida — Detectives are investigating a suicide in Tarpon Springs

This morning they arrived to a mobile home park on US Highway 19 to find Deborah Jeane Palfrey, also known as the "D.C. Madam" dead.

Palfrey, 52, was reportedly staying at this location with her mother, Blanche, who owns the home. She was found in a small storage shed located outside the mobile home. She left a suicide note, but police did not disclose its contents.

Investigators say that at this time, foul play does not appear to be involved.

Palfrey was convicted April 15 by a federal jury of running a prostitution service that catered to members of Washington's political elite, including Sen. David Vitter, a Louisiana Republican.

She had denied her escort service engaged in prostitution, saying that if any of the women engaged in sex acts for money, they did so without her knowledge.

Whether it was suicide or not I hope she had many copies of names with proof spread out among a few people that will release them now. Beyond just the phone numbers.

Highly doubtful she would kill herself..

She reportedly was staying at her mother's home on U.S. Highway 19 North. Her body was discovered in a shed on the west side of the mobile home.

Officers say hand written notes were found on scene that describes the victim's intention to take her life, and foul play does not appear to be involved.

Palfrey is the former owner of Pamela Martin and Associates, which the U. S. government alleges was a prostitution service in Washington, D.C.

She was charged with operating a house of prostitution. Palfrey claimed the services she offered were legal. She was nicknamed the D.C. Madam by the media.

On April 15, she was found guilty by a jury on all counts.

I heard her on a DU banned internet radio show and she said she was afraid for her safety and that she vowed that she would never commit suicide if anything should happen to her.

This has me in tears here, for the loss of a life and from frustration.

yeah, she was probably headed to jail for a few years, but she was going to get uber rich from book deals, movie deals, and whatnot. She knew that jail was a likely outcome of her business, so I really question her motives to off herself. (assuming it was not a suicide), I would say she was injected with a very fast metabolizing sedative or paralyzer, one that clears through the system in a matter of minutes. The CIA has some nasty chemicals in their arsenal; I hope the coroner thoroughly searches the body for signs of tissue puncture or other tell tale signs and does a tox screen on her (although a tox screen probably would show up normal). Hanging is a pretty effective method for assassinations (especially with disabled or otherwise incapacitated victims), because it is a set-it and forget-it method-- and nobody hears a gun blast.
