Air Marshals Denied Boarding Due To "No-fly List"
We've all heard the stories of ordinary airline passengers denied the right to fly because their name happens to match a name on the "no-fly list" kept by the Transportation Security Administration. But it appears that some federal air marshals, who are supposed to be on board as a protective measure, have also been denied boarding for the same reason. "In some cases, planes have departed without any coverage because the airline employees were adamant they would not fly," an unidentified air marshal told The Washington Times. On Monday, the Department of Homeland Security said it will start this week to implement a new program that allows airlines to store travelers' birth date information, which should eliminate most of the watch-list misidentification problems. "This is good for travelers and for security, because as we make the checkpoint environment calmer, it becomes easier to spot individuals with hostile intent," said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

"Hassles due to misidentification and the resulting necessity to stand in line to check in at the ticket counter consistently among the deepest -- and most valid -- complaints of the traveling public," he said.

5. I'd suggest both, allowing time between fits of emotion to wipe ones eyes...
...and shift focus to prepare for the next phase.

I honestly think having to choose a single reaction to seven plus years of the Bushies severely limits the proper range of emotional response this administration has so richly earned. So, after a quick review of various classic Bushisms, I'd go with...

one of these:

followed -- after a decent interval in which to properly internalize the extent of the damage the Bushies have visited on this country, as well as the carnage and misery they've inflicted on the rest of the world -- with a good one of these:

After a couple of these trips to bipolarville, it'll probably be time for one or two of these:

And given my tolerance for alcohol these days, that would about do it for me. Hopefully, you're made of sterner stuff, or at least your liver is.

Oh, if you're having trouble reaching the level of manic hilarity necessary to engage phase one, here's a little blank verse that might help:

MAKE THE PIE HIGHER
by George W. Bush

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.

Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

Now if that doesn't do it, you need to call an undertaker.

13. I also heard that Nelson Mandela is on the no-fly list
"Nobel Peace Prize winner and international symbol of freedom Nelson Mandela is flagged on U.S. terrorist watch lists and needs special permission to visit the USA. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice calls the situation "embarrassing," and some members of Congress vow to fix it." - http://digg.com/world_news/U_S_has_Nelson_Mandela_on_terrorist_list

The international symbol of freedom is needs special permission to visit the US. When Bush said he was "protecting our freedoms" little did I guess he meant he was going to protect us (the US) from Nelson Mandela.

I swear, just when you think you've heard it all something like this comes along.

spotted any individuals with hostile intent, or if they've just been harassing innocent citizens. Like Ted Kennedy. :eyes:

9. I do not think it's a coincidence that from the gate
the names on the no fly list, that now includes Air Marshalls, (oops, sorry for the mistake), is laying the groundwork for them to arbitrarily (voila), to have access to a flyers birthdate. More illegal snooping.

17. Amazing how, almost 7 years laters, we still can't get our computers to hold birthdates.
I remember the episode of Boston Legal in which Denny Crane is on the no-fly list, and Alan Shore goes off on a nice rant about how we have all this amazing computer technology, and computer geniuses, and inventors and technicians and money in this country, and for some reason, Homeland Security can't manage to get its computers to include birthdates.
