1. Eh.
Why go to China when you can just go to Metairie or Mandeville and drive across the 24 mile Causeway?! Hell it's even free from Metairie to Mandeville (the toll is three dollars in the opposite direction).

And when you tire of that (although it's not terribly exicting unless the drawbridge is up), you can trek to New Orleans next door. :D

3. It is kind of strange..
To be driving in your car .. And be out of sight of land in every direction.

Other than that it is a boring ride.

5. Bah! I've got a 24-mile bridge
and best of all, it takes you to New Orleans! (well, Metairie anyway, but close enough)

Meet me in Mandeville, LA, and we'll drive (well, you'll drive, presumably, since I don't) across the 24-mile-long Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. It is long enough that, from right in the middle, you cannot see land on either side, even on a clear day!
