My harebrained scenario: re: the dc madam 'suicide": Why the shed?
we know she knew more than she told in trial, and we knew she kept secret records because she tried to trade them for defraying costs of her legal representation.

so lets consider this possibility:

1. the agent(s) who facilitated her death could not do so until they were SURE they had ALSO collected every possible copy of the records.
2. a logical hiding place for said records could have been someplace relatively innocent so as not to raise suspicion, yet close enough at hand so that palfrey could put her hands on it if needed.
3. A shed could hide things, like a book, almost in plain sight.
4. A person could be coerced, drugged or killed in same place they found the LAST copy of the secret book. It would be inconvenient to move them. A suicide in the shed would provide a cover and no one would miss a missing SECRET book.

I can conceive of this scenario, which does not prove it, of course, but if you think about it, does make a lot more sense than that a free woman would hang herself in her mother's shed, when she could have availed herself of better methods and locations easily enough.

1. Hanging is relatively quick
and the shed would provide privacy.

While I can't rule suicide out, there have just been too many convenient ones in the last 8 years for me to buy it completely.

Let's just say there's doubt. However, the location makes sense.

2. Actually, I can understand it.
She didn't want to leave her mother with that memory in the house where she lives.

3. but the shed attached to the property is better?
If that were her concern, couldn't she have picked a more remote (to her mother) location?

5. At first I was thinking coercion to hang one self wouldn't work without a struggle, then

I thought her mother is in the trailer and they could have threatened her if Palfrey didn't comply.

As for drugs, I imagine that would show up in the autopsy although maybe they know of some that disappear from the body rapidly.

6. Neurotoxin. Victim stops breathing and falls like a rag. String her up...
and the coroner rules "Suicide: Death by Asphyxiation".

No gunshots. No screams. No bruises.

Brandy Britton also "hanged herself".
