Here is a report on how to use your rebate for the good of America......
As you have heard, most of us will be getting a rebate check to stimulate the economy. If we spend the money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer, it will go to India. If we purchase fruits & vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras & Guatemala. If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan. None of which will help the American Economy. We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at Yard Sales since those are the only businesses left in the U.S.

.......

That's a fact Jack! We just had a yard sale last weekend and we made as much as my husband does for 38 hrs. on his job. That is $150.00 after gasoline cost!

4. Or local farmer's markets
Ours just opened today. And I guarantee that the fresh greens for sale came from the USA!

Also remember local craftsmen--http://www.spencerwoodentoys.com is an example of an American who is a progressive environmentalist making toys and stained glass hangings. He's also a neighbor, and I boost his work every chance I get.

7. Yard sales, farmers markets, local craftsmen. I have been
wondering about a national boycott...a month of consuming nothing other than the basics...do you think we could pull something like that off?

15. Well, let's think about this...July might be good because it's summer and
warm weather and well before people start shopping for school items. I've never done anything like this so I'm not sure where to start. I guess people should make a list of the things they can't live without like food and gas and then vow not to buy anything other than those things for a month. With respect to necessities like food, maybe we can provide information on farmers markets.

Wouldn't this send a powerful message to Washington as well as the Candidates!

20. You know Pres. Bush never asked anyone to sacrifice but the troops for the War effort
He just said GO shopping! This would be something we could all do to support America!

Maybe just for a week would be better though on the week of July 4th maybe. This would send a message I believe. Bush is always saying this recession isn't as bad as it seems because people are still buying stuff. Maybe even a week of trying to buy local or from Farmer's Markets might be good and it would send a good message too for local support.

We could call it Patriot Week - Buy Local!

Maybe someone else has a thought. You could post this and find out if it would go anywhere since it was your idea.

Keep me in the loop!

10. Not to rain on your yard sale, but
I'm going to get my radiator fixed.
However, I am going to a shop in the neighborhood (not a chain) that advertises on the local Democrats web page.

13. You might be surprised what "new" stuff yard sales have. Sometimes really good deals!
I agree not for all occasions but this was a tongue in check analogy.

Congratualtions to your daughter!

That's his place of honor until we actually have a nominee.
He earned it with submitting the Articles of Impeachment which, sadly, languish in committee.

26. Also--Spend the money supporting peace candidates!
Think of all of the lawn signs and flyers you can make to support your local peace candidate running for Congress!

Also, Ebay is a great way to help Americans trying to sell stuff to get by.
