"In "America Under a Curse," a seventeen page chapter in Day of Deception, John Hagee wrote, "As a nation, America is under the curse of God, even now. Look at the scriptures and see for yourself.
The stand we have taken on abortion, the stand we have taken against God in our classrooms, just may have sealed or doom." "The Curse on America" is neatly organized into subsections for different types of divine curses sapping and damaging America and its people, its culture and economic well-being: God's curses on individuals; God's `curse on America'; "The Curse on The Home"; "The Curse against People" (Americans generally); "The Curses of The Cities"; "The Economic Curse"; "The Curse of The Plagues"; "The Curse of Servitude". What kind of God is willing to curse over Him being in our classrooms, but not over our flawed foreign policy (Which has included, but not limited to: Supporting a dictator who gassed his own people (Saddam Hussein), supporting a dictator who killed thousands, stole millions from his own people, trafficked in cocaine, and sent people to be tortured by a pedophile Nazi (Pinochet), supporting psychopaths who cut off fingers and genitalia of POW's and threw acid in women's faces (Afghan Mujahideen), supporting murderers who shot doctors, nurses, humanitarian activists, and trafficked in cocaine (Contras), and so many more)?
As a person who does believe in God, I think it's time to ally with those who believe He doesn't exist, and with those who aren't sure. The Right Wing says that God is everywhere and omnipotent and is in charge of everyone, their god does seem awfully small, doesn't he?
It's time to call out the Republican Party and the Christian Right, no more talk about God, about "moral values", or anything related to that until they answer those two questions; why does their god, if so powerful, only seem willing to curse America over things that are impediments to the Republican Party agenda.
Are they lying about God, or is their god really just that small?
