Iran and Nuclear
) - Iran's top leader says his country will not bend to international pressure and give up its nuclear program, according to state television.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say in all state matters, said Iran will continue its nuclear program despite Western efforts to thwart it with sanctions.

"No threat can hinder the Iranian nation from its path," he said Sunday.

The U.N. Security Council has already imposed three sets of sanctions on Iran for its refusal to halt uranium enrichment. World powers agreed Friday to try again to lure Iran to the nuclear bargaining table with a repackaged set of incentives.

Diplomats said the offer contained no major new enticements.

1. I don't have a problem with this... Hey Israel is not even supposed to have Nukes, but they do...

The NIE report stated that the Iranians did not have a nuke program.

Edited to say:

The Israeli's scare me much more than the Iranians do... Or the US for that mater under George Bush/Dick Cheney.

2. Like I said earlier........
Iranians are just in the habit of thumbing their noses at the west and the west just keeps getting mad without doing anything.

3. Well with all due respect to the great US.. F*** em... The US is now a banana republic...
or will be very soon... They may have extreme military hardware, but they do not have money to carry out much of there BS any longer.... Although I am a US citizen I have grown tired of the we are great attitude that comes out of Washington and it is about to come to an end very soon now. We have roughly 6.1 billion people in our world and only 300 million plus live in the US as Us citizens... Its time that we started to think about the others that inhabit this planet instead of ourselves.

8. Hmmm, let's see
Who's broken more UN Resolutions? Who's invaded and conquered neighboring countries, keeping their land? Who's kept an entire group of people supressed for decades? Who's been caught repeatedly spying on the US?

Sure, yeah, there was that whole hostage thing over twenty five years ago, but frankly the overall record of the two countries certainly doesn't put Israel in a good light at all.

5. We already have intelligence that suggests Iran stopped it's attempt to develop nuclear weapons
They stopped years ago. Our own intelligence even says Iran is not developing nukes.

This whole thing is about provoking Iran into confrontation so that we can attack Iran,

A nuclear program does not mean they are developing nuclear weapons.

The pentagon apparently feels threatened by piece of shit speed boats that have 1 machine gun going up against US Navy destroyers. As if they are a threat

Bottom line is that the US is craving war with Iran. Bush wants the streets of Iran flowing with blood. Expect some kind of Gulf of Tonkin incident in the Persian Gulf.

7. Have you considered that Iran is saying this just so that we'll pay them not to develop nukes?
Crazy concept I know. But if you study foreign policy at all, you may realize it's not so crazy.

9. They are entitled to do this under existing law.
Everything they have done and are doing is allowed by treaty.
