Worse case of abuse seen when the child was still alive: Prosecutor
Beyond disgusting. These four people weighed between 230 and 300 pounds, and withheld food from the toddlers. The video of the children's bruises, split lips, open cuts, and untreated wounds was graphic and sickening. :mad:

"KOKOMO, Ind. -- Four adults were arrested after officers determined two Kokomo children had suffered daily abuse at home, at times including beatings, food deprivation and being bound in a closet, police said.

<snip>

The children were taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment. Police said the girl had multiple fractures to her hands and arms; information about the boy's condition wasn't immediately released.

Police questioned Chandler, her sister Jennifer Leonard and two other adults, and eventually arrested all of them on neglect charges and three of them on additional charges.

Kokomo police said the children were abused daily in the home. They were frequently beaten, bound and kept in a closet -- one of them for three weeks -- police said.

Police said the children had been attached to items with zip ties to restrict their movement and were forced to stand in corners, sometimes overnight.

Water and food were also kept from the children for long periods of time, according to police..."

2. That's horrible.
Cases like this make me think the death penalty might not be such a bad idea.

7. I with you there
Sometimes I think that there are some people who simply forfeit the right to use up air, water, and food.

3. the depravity of some humans toward the small, weak and defenseless
who are their responsibility is sickening. when I worked in the legal field, I remember reading a case where the description of the injuries to the children ran for paragraphs, and then the judge said, "I can't even continue reading this, the rest is too horrible"

I don't even know what you do with people like that--put them out of our misery? put them in the same situation in which they put the children? return to the stocks and pillory so that we ourselves can boo and hiss and throw things at them? I cannot imagine anything vile enough to begin to punish them for such crimes.
