Al Gore Ties Myanmar Cyclone to Global Warming
http://www.citizensugar.com/1609388

Al Gore says that the cyclone in Myanmar is a result of global warming. He told NPR yesterday:

And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated. And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.

2. I believe the strongest tornado on record just went through Oklahoma as well,
I believe they said it had winds up to 300mph.

I also believe builders, engineers and developers should start designing more aerodynamic structures with rounded corners instead of sharp ones. I don't believe anything will hold up to a direct hit but I believe this will improve survivability for the structures and their occupants not in the direct path of a tornado.

Thanks for the thread, lovuian.

8. I heard it on the weather, either last night or the night before.
The weatherman said it was the strongest tornado ever recorded. I don't have a link.

9. Developers whould also stop building in coastal areas...
and some river fronts because these sea levels are going to start to rise quicker than scientists have projected.

11. I believe it will become increasingly apparent to society at large
that building and developing without regard to the environment in mind is foolish, deadly and not cost effective. Just trying to get homeowner's insurance is some states is becoming a ridiculous exercise.

3. Good Thing He's Out Giving Speeches
Instead of running for President, a position where he could actually accomplish something.

I'm not sure this country or this world will ever get over Al Gore not being President, and for that, I hold him partially to blame.

If McCain wins in November, it is more his fault than Hillary, because had he run, neither Obama nor Clinton would have had a chance at the nomination, IMO.

4. Everyone has to follow their own conscious as to the best way to effect change.
Personally I would rather see Al Gore as President over anyone else, having said that if Obama or Clinton lose to McCain, the fault lies with them, not Al Gore.

Whether it's Obama or Clinton, their task against McCain is much easier because of what Al Gore has already done, whether it's his work on waking the American People up regarding the environment or helping to empower the American People with a voice of their own via the Internet; something for which the corporate media relentlessly slandered, libeled and trashed him over, while they enabled Bush to power.

McCain knows this, that's why he's attacking the Internet; and by extension, the American People's freedom of speech.

I just heard a portion of a speech by John McCain at a town hall meeting in Michigan. He was railing against the internet. <sigh>" <snip>

6. It's Just That We're So Screwed
He was the one person who could have made this country's future great again.

Apologies to all the Obama or Clinton fans, but neither of them are going to turn this country around, and I fear we're headed in the wrong direction.

As a 40 something person, I'm not really looking forward to the second half of my life in this country, and I see my life coming to it's eventual end, somewhere else.

12. Get a life
That stupid argument was old 6 years ago. The blame is on the Bush Junta and the Supreme Court. I'm sick of the crowd who thinks they have a righteous entitlement to decide what Gore should do with his life. Try doing even a tiny amount of what he does before you go shooting your mouth off about what he 'should' do. It's not your friggin call!
