Here's an old soundbite about it:

Weekend Edition Saturday, November 24, 2007 · Philadelphia's Mayor-elect Michael Nutter wants to employ more aggressive policing with the ability to stop and frisk based on suspicion, not warrants. A recent poll shows that 65 percent of Philadelphians favor the practice.

This is coming along in the near future in Philly... that cop beating we've all seen is going to become more and more common in this city. To me, this is the equivalent of rolling up and smoking the constitution.

7. Interetsting you don't mention those who were beaten were NOT the perps
in the shooting case. That guy was arrested without incident:

Very convenient. Very, very convenient.

Until they are the one who is stopped and frisked..

Then they will scream bloody murder..

Nobody ever thinks these things are going to happen to them, it is always someone else that needs their freedoms curtailed.

9. It's frustrating when the powers that be can continually rely on the profoundly disinformed...
To impose their totalitarian "solutions" on a quickly closing open society.

10. It won't be happening at Rittenhouse Square, that's for sure.
Except for the homeless maybe.

4. The Philly cops...
Have long had an impulse control problem, since the days of Frank Rizzo. This will not turn out well and will only end up in a civil rights case, which the city could well lose.

8. The worse part is, if this ends up working out, other cities will do it. NT
