how wrong that video is?! On SO many levels. Ack! Although I'm not the prayin' sort, if I was, I'd pray that his Mama doesn't have that clip as her last recorded remembrance of the child she nurtured to adulthood.

NOt since I found an online video of a soldier playing with an Iraqi child and then in the middle of play time, hurling him off a bridge. It was very real. Not a joke (except for the soldier!)

I hope this is a joke, but I know that things of a very brutal nature have gone on there.

The guy was obviously playing to the camera. He knew the cab driver didn't understand the foolishness he was saying. I think this was just an example of the dark, sarcastic, and sometimes even sick, humor that's not uncommon in these situations. I can see Alan Alda, as Hawkeye, doing something similar with his camera phone if he had one.

Let me say one thing here. This video is not conclusive evidence for ANY opinion, mine or anyone else's. All we can do with this is make conjectures. Maybe there was no humor at all involved here and the marine is a pure psychopath and meant every word he said. I don't think that was the case, but I'm not prepared to "argue to the death" that my opinion is right. It just looks to me like a joke that arose from boredom. Some could consider it in bad taste and they may be right. I don't think it's worth an argument.

What did bother me were most of the comments I read. I only read 5 or 6, but it was clear that the comments were going to be dominated by immature, right wing, stupid people. These people are Americans, but I feel absolutely no kinship with them. People like that are repugnant to me and I wish they had there own place, preferably another planet, where they could inflict themselves on each other. If they all disappeared tomorrow I don't see how that could be anything but a good thing.

And, just for the record, I've been against this invasion, and everything connected with it, since before it began.
