1. Whoa-my conman is against mothers!
Boozman (how did a man with this name get elected in a district with so many dry counties?) may live to regret this vote. Let's hope the Dems here nominate a strong candidate to oppose him this time.

3. No Dem is opposing Boozman this year. I just voted yesterday and there was really
only one option...district judge on the 'state primary' ballot. All others, including Sen. Mark Pryor, are running unopposed.

There is a very liberal U of A grad student, Abel Tomlinson, running against Boozman as a Green Party candidate. I recommend Abel 110%. He's been very active in the local anti-war movement here.

5. Thanks for the information
No point in voting May 20, then, unless there is a race for my county offices. Hmm...I'm really disgusted with the local Democratic committee in Newton County. In 2004, before the nominee was even chosen, they stated flatly that they weren't supporting ANYONE for President, and that the only time they had was when Clinton ran. Their attitude was that they were locals, the group I was with were outsiders, and how dare we think that the local Democrats should support the national ticket. All local Dems lost their seats, thanks in part to the fact that the local Democrats did NOTHING. I was part of an independent group that raised money, held meetings, placed ads and LTTE in the local paper, and who volunteered to drive folks to the polls.

2. here's a link to the resolution and vote breakdown.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2008-275

I must add that this resolution passed 412-0 by voice vote, then Todd Tiahrt called for a revote, and 178 repugs voted against it.

4. Good for them... read my message of support

Now if only there hadn't been such a bogus and opportunistic resolution in the first place, maybe Congress could have done something useful...
