Let's design a grass-roots campaign to help out Big Oil!

Apparently some consumers are upset at Big Oil for some reason, and Big Oil feels it must defend itself, as discussed here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3302351

I'm not very good at this sort of thing -- but there are many great minds here that can surely develop an effective campaign to save Big Oil. So the following suggestions shouldn't be taken too seriously: they are only intended to get us started

The group, of course, needs an appropriate name: perhaps something like Ordinary Americans Support Big Oil! that indicates ordinary Americans support Big Oil

A catchy slogan would be good, too -- maybe I get humped at the pumps (or something like that)

A grassroots group like this always has an organizing packet. The packet needs:

* stuffers (a autographed picture of Condi's tanker? a signed letter from George? a certificate of honorary membership in Dick's Top Secret Energy Panel?);
* a crudely drawn ready-to-use poster to put up at work (like what the union-busting firms do);
* a bumpersticker (dunno: I heart Big Oil ?)
* a list of talking points for radio call-ins and LTTEs: y'know, those devastating little facts like "Higher gas prices actually save consumers money" or "In fact, due to record profits, many oil executives are worse off now than they were"
* give-aways: maybe a handful of little plastic mascots to share with your friends

Man - they just want to make money - fine - it is not written into stone that they have to do so with oil from the middleast either.

I don't want enemies when I can get allies. I guarantee you - they don't want to sell products with such an insecure delivery.

Well then - isn't the enemy of your enemy your friend? I don't justify anything they did - but I understand, they be can corrupted to do the right thing- to the higher purpose. A pavlovs dog model - right??

They don't have to know it - just to do it. For profit too. I don't care.

Just get it done.

Maybe something like "America's Homeless for Oil Executives"

or "Working For An Oily Tomorrow"
