Reid promises Senate hearings on Pentagon propaganda program.

During today’s Firedoglake Book Salon, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) promised that the Senate would be holding hearings on the Pentagon’s propaganda program, which was first disclosed by the New York Times on April 20. Reid’s announcement is the first time the Senate leadership has indicated that it intends to hold hearings:

LISH: Senator, are you planning to hold hearings on the illegality of the Pentagon’s propaganda training program of retired military officers that was recently exposed by the New York Times and Glenn Greenwald?

REID: The answer is yes. I have personally spoken to Chairman Levin and he is tremendously concerned as I. And we are proceeding accordingly.

7. The tip of the Propaganda Iceburg, no doubt!! How many in the M$M are on payola?
I hope this leads to an examination of media propaganda generally.

It might be interesting to the talking heads to discover who writes what they read!!

3. Let's hope they don't "ask" people to testify and "hope" they show up.

I want real hearings, people showing up, and I want them sworn in.

4. This is not the executive office but the Pentagon, and the minions
who were on TV spreading the propaganda. Might be easier.

5. While they're at it...
The Senate should examine the complicity of the M$M in this affair. The fact that they all went along with it without any questions being raised stinks of conspiracy.

Follow the money.

6. The m$m is part of the problem. Arianna interviewed someone
recently who called this our current day Pentagon Papers. It's a travesty, and I'm glad Reid is listening. I know Kerry and Levin are trying to get to the bottom of it, as are some House reps.

Here's Huffington's article on this, and Glenn Greenwald has been a pit bull; check out his articles that I've posted in GD.

8. And what good have hearings done so far? I cannot be hopeful that justice will
be served. The house hearing on torture that was held last week never received a mention by MSM. Wouldn't you think it was huge news that panelists called Shrub a war criminal?

I'm tired.
