We lost a good democrat this week
My brother-in-law died suddenly Tuesday night. He was only 50 years old. Some of you who have been here for a while may remember him. I believe he was a member briefly prior to '04. His screen name was "infusionman". He was banned after a time, but never told me why. He was a person who always stated his mind and the rest of the world be damned. I'm sure that was what got him tombstoned. Now he is permanently tombstoned. Even after his banning, he kept asking me for news and information from DU. Though he couldn't post here any longer, he stayed in touch and was passionate in his Democratic beliefs.

He was so excited about Obama and was thrilled when I got him a yard sign. He kept bugging me for a bumper sticker, but I didn't have anymore.

He raised 2 sons, who were able to vote in their first presidential primary in April. He taught them to take their civic responsibilities very seriously and to never take them for granted.

Rest in Peace, Victor. Do everything you can up there to ensure a Democratic blow-out in Nov.

Thank you all so much
My sister is, understandably, devastated, as are his sons. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship, who is married to a great young man from Puerto Rico. As a matter of fact, they were in PR this week visiting his family and introducing them to their 9 mo. old daughter. Of course they had to cut short their visit.

As mad as we could get at Vic, he was a moody, hard-headed Leo (like me LOL!!), he was the go-to guy for any problem. He was always there for you in any crisis. When I had my back surgery last fall, he came over every day to change my dressing and after 2 weeks took my stitches out. He was a registered nurse and loved every minute of his job.

He was very active in his church as a deacon, elder and lay pastor. He went on 2 mission trips to the Sudan, the most recent one this past Jan. He was editor of the church newsletter, until he published an article back in '04 entitled "Jesus wasn't a Republican". He was forced to resign as editor after a number of church holy-rollers raised objections.

There is a huge hole in our world right now, and I'm not sure how long it will take to adjust to.

14. I am sorry. 50 is too young. any age is too young when you love them
but 50? That isn't right. I send you love and peace and the sure knowledge that he already knows Obama won. :) Take care. RIP, Victor.

15. Thank you so much
50 is so young! I put an Obama pin in his casket today. My mom said she didn't think it was appropriate. My mom hates political discussion of any kind. I told her that I thought it was completely appropriate, considering his political beliefs.
