Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao actually
went to Dujiangyan to speak personally with victims of the earthquake! He didn't go to a fund-raiser or sit around during one of China's most serious catastrophes in 30 years.

5. When the social good is replaced with corporate
interests only, Bushco's response to Katrina is what happens.
This morning I watched the Chinese Premier in the middle of the rescue operation.

One interesting comment was that while they are generally prepared for disasters, they were even more prepared for this massive disaster since the army had been practicing rescue operations for the Olympics.

By the time the rubble is cleared I'm guessing that over 100,000 people are dead.

China said it would accept international help to cope with the quake - the worst since 1976 when 242,000 people were killed in Tangshan - and offered its thanks.

The government response was praised as "swift and very efficient" by Francis Marcus of the International Federation of the Red Cross in Beijing.

But he added the scale of the disaster was such that "we can't expect that the government can do everything and handle every aspect of the needs".

6. Are you listening, Smirky?

Are you taking notes?

Hell no. You couldn't care less.
