I'm not going to make this political other than note some Party difference.
The New York Times has county-by-county results on line and I looked at them to confirm my guess as to how the voting went in the state. It was about what you'd expect with the heaviest support for Senator Clinton coming from the state's south western coal fields and Senator Obama's greatest support in the eastern panhandle. What caught my eye was that on the New York Times page they also gave the rough results from the Republican contest that was held in the state about a month ago. Comparing the two gave me a smile.
Without breaking out the calculator I mentally added up the total Republican vote for all of their candidates and it came to something on the order of 120,000. The Democratic Primary brought out in excess of 355,000 voters. Senator Clinton alone received more than twice as many votes as all of the Republicans put together and Senator Obama received more votes than any single Republican, including Senator McCain.
Things bode well here.
