Bill Maher's "Religious" debut moved to October- will it impact voters?
Edited on Wed May-14-08 01:20 PM by npincus
This is a serious question. We know the usual suspects (Americans who take their religion very seriously) will find this offensive, and the GOP will use it to paint a caricature of Liberals or Democrat-aligned "Hollywood Liberals" as disrespecting ordinary folk's "values" and of course being "ELITIST".

No snark, please. I'm not one of those, but the reaction is predictable. I wish Maher would wait another month (opening originally scheduled for July)- what difference would it make to him? I really think this will be used by some against us, and every vote counts.

I can't wait to see it, myself.

1. Mr. Maher can keep his mental masturbations and self-aggrandizement to himself, IMHO
I won't expend coin nor bandwidth to entertain his version of commentary.

5. I agree
While the whackies on the radio will try to beat on people with this, I think the whole religious crap has nearly played itself out as an issue. People have long since taken a side on this. This year I think more people will care about endless war, high food and gas prices and the lack of access to the health care system. I hope Maher reminds folks someplace in the movie that the human condition (and the planet) are what we need to care about.
