From http://rejectmccain.com/?p=490">rejectmccain.com:

Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Rudy Guiliani, Mike Huckabee, or any other GOP presidential candidate would also be paying lip service to the environmental movement. This is 2008. EVERYONE is going green. Indeed, America is the last to hop on board, but we have joined with a vengeance. Corporations are going green. Individuals making changes in their daily routines. Schools have adopted curriculum friendly to the green movement, and more visual data–through movies and television specials–are incorporated in many entertainment venues.

For a modern US presidential candidate to oppose the environmental movement–now the most widely accepted world cause in history–would be political suicide. But our national media constantly praises McCain for embracing the green movement. A few years ago, my grandpa finally admitted the South lost the Civil War; should I have thrown him a party?

Consider that while Bush ran in 2000 on an agenda hostile to the green movement, nobody really cared. Ignorance still prevailed. Global warming was a joke. Seven years later, it’s a foundational principle of all scientific environmental research. As the Dem primary ends, and Obama increases his lead over McCain, the national friendly will be glad to help McCain “separate himself” from Bush. They need this race to be close. So expect headlines such as “McCain steps away from Bush,” and “Stumping on Climate, McCain Faults Bush.” Such stories rarely mention the biggest problem McCain faces when he tries to sidle unsuspecting environmental groups: his record.
