6. I somehow do not see this as a bad thing?
I see it as a positive thing to encourage specialty crops to be grown here rather than import but maybe I am wrong?

5. I can only assume this was ethanol?
If indeed it is ethanol that is sad.. We need to be promoting young farmers to get started again. We need local production and local goods to cut down dependence on oil otherwise we may as well blow our own kneecaps off and hell maybe a finger or two on each hand.

Without food we are doomed to fail. We need fresh blood farming not leaving as has been the case. Maybe this is why I am working on becoming a small scale farmer but the tasks are almost overwhelming.

3. Were the ethanol subsidies in that one?
Because what we're funding there is the destruction of our own food supply.

I read the link provided and I still don't understand why this is bad, though it obviously is. Could someone please explain?
