How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power

This article appeared in the Guardian on Saturday September 25 2004.

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator's action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

5. The People's Voice has an article about it by Larisa Alexandrovna
Hi sinkingfeeling, maybe its still too early on to judge as to where the extent of this story will appear and rear its truth tenticles throughout the MSM.

Excerpt:

" All the President's Nazis (real and imagined): An Open Letter to Bush

by Larisa Alexandrovna

Dear Mr. Bush,

Your speech on the Knesset floor today was not only a disgrace; it was nothing short of treachery. Worse still, your exploitation of the Holocaust in a country carved out of the wounds of that very crime, in order to strike a low blow at American citizens whose politics differs from your own is unforgivable and unpardonable. Let me remind you, Mr. Bush, of your words today:

<i>"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," Bush said at Israel's 60th anniversary celebration in Jerusalem.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to Israel's parliament, the Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."</i>

Well Mr. Bush, the only thing this comment lacked was a mirror and some historical facts. You want to discuss the crimes of Nazis against my family and millions of other families in Europe during World War II? Let me revive a favorite phrase of yours: Bring. It. On!

<b>The All-American Nazi

Your family's fortune is built on the bones of the very people butchered by the Nazis, my family and the families of those in the Knesset who applauded you today:</b>

<i>WASHINGTON -- President Bush's grandfather was a director of a bank seized by the federal government because of its ties to a German industrialist who helped bankroll Adolf Hitler's rise to power, government documents show.

Prescott Bush was one of seven directors of Union Banking Corp. (search), a New York investment bank owned by a bank controlled by the Thyssen family, according to recently declassified National Archives documents reviewed by The Associated Press.

Fritz Thyssen was an early financial supporter of Hitler, whose Nazi party Thyssen believed was preferable to communism. </i>

2. Is ANY of this information being reported by the MSM in either US or UK?
I know, I know -- I won't hold my breath.

But if ANY of them had SPINES they would be seizing the opportunity to drag this little gem into the daylight and REALLY start pointing the fingers at the TRUE Nazi helpmates.

During May of 1938, Kennedy engaged in extensive discussions with the new German Ambassador to the Court of St. James's, Herbert von Dirksen. In the midst of these conversations (held without approval from the U.S. State Department), Kennedy advised von Dirksen that President Roosevelt was the victim of "Jewish influence" and was poorly informed as to the philosophy, ambitions and ideals of Hitler's regime. (The Nazi ambassador subsequently told his bosses that Kennedy was "Germany's best friend" in London.)

4. Yeah, but after the US declared War on Germany,
the bushes (and Prescotts) were still busy giving their stolen wealth to the Nazis. Our unelected president W. is, after all, a Nazi grandson.

Papa Kennedy, like Nixon, might have been a bigot but he stopped short of supporting Hitler after war was declared. The bushes (and Prescotts) kept funding our declared enemy. That is HUGH!!1!1!!!

7. if the shoe fits --
IF there are Democrats that benefited from helping the Nazis -- it NEEDS to come out. Period.

We demand transparency, but only *IF* it doesn't bruise our party? This is the sort of mindset that needs to GO.

10. Damage them all!
The liars and traitors that have brought this country to its current low point should be exposed.

More importantly, the lies they told should be exposed.

If that hurts someone that Dems admire, tough!

9. Henry Ford stopped supporting Hitler after we entered WWII
I do wonder how much money he made-he was probably also making military goods for England in the Lend/Lease program, plus selling supplies to Germany prior to our entry in the war.

8. If Caroline Kennedy was equating McCain to a Nazi appeaser...
While giving a speech in Israel, as POTUS, for his overtures to Hamas, you might have a point.

So your attempt to drag the Kennedy family into this =
