Never thought I would ever agree with Tweety.

1. He was different on "Countdown"
He even looked different to me. His eyes were more grown-up, not those cartoonish bug-eyes he normally displays on "Hardball." He had a certain gravitas about him as he discussed what's gone on in this country these past eight years.

I really liked him. He knows his stuff.

2. I've had a changing impression of him.
Saw him the first time a few months ago when he was talking about Biden, pushing him as a good candidate, saying he had a shot at 3rd in Iowa, seemed to talk about substance.

In the coming months all that weird crap about Hillary and other fluff.

Now he seems to have recovered some brains again. Maybe he just got too wrapped up in the horse race crap and now is thinking more broadly?

3. Doubtful.
He tends to go in cycles, and it's likely that people learning to like him right now will be disappointed soon. Of course, I could be wrong, and hope I am. He could be a very effective progressive voice if that's what he chose to become, but at this point I'm not betting on it.

4. A switch has flipped in his brain
and it was before Kevin James.

At his Jon Stewart book interview Jon did to Tweety what Tweety did to Kevin, and IMO it forced him into some soul-searching.

6. He's just trying to be a little more like Keith Olbermann
and less like the boot-licker for the Rethugs that he's been for YEARS.

8. He nailed it by talking about the LANGUAGE of the neocons

WMDs, HOMELAND security, etc, etc.

Every once in a while he actually has a coherent (and correct) thought.

13. I know,,,It's Sad,,, We can only hope for fairness!
Currently, there is NO, required balance of controversial issues! :(

Without (The Fairness Doctrine) the public relies instead on the judgment of broadcast journalists :grr:

and its own reasoning ability, to sort out one-sided or distorted coverage of an issue.

Dissent is an important part of healthy democracy, but it doesn't DEFINE democracy.
