Insightful author interviews
Saturday 10 PM, Sunday 6 & 9 PM and Monday 12 & 3 AM,
ET
This week, author and ABC News political commentator Cokie Roberts tells the story of some of early America's notable women and their achievements in Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation. In her book, she draws on personal correspondence, private journals, and previously unpublished writings to recount the history of former first ladies such as Abigail Adams and Dolley Madison and other women such as Theodosia Burr, Aaron Burr's daughter. Ms. Roberts discussed her book with Pat Schroeder, CEO of the Association of American Publishers and former Democratic congresswoman from Colorado.

Weekend Highlights ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Max Hastings, Retribution: The Battle for Japan, 1944-45
Historian Max Hastings recounts the final year of World War II in the Pacific theater from 1944 to 1945. Mr. Hastings profiles several of the key military and political figures, including Chiang Kai-Shek, Winston Churchill, Douglas MacArthur, and Franklin D. Roosevelt and examines the decision making process that lead to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagaski. Max Hastings discusses his book with Ed Tracy, executive producer of programs at the Pritzker Military Library in Chicago.
(Saturday 2:45 PM, Sunday 4 AM ET)
Rachel Corrie Let Me Stand Alone: The Journals of Rachel Corrie
Rachel Corrie was killed in the Gaza Strip on March 16, 2003, while trying to block an Israeli bulldozer from demolishing the house of a Palestinian family. The 23-year-old peace activist kept a journal since 1989, which included her time spent in the Palestinian territories. During this event to mark the fifth anniversary of her death, Corrie's parents and colleagues read selections from her work. The event, from Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, was hosted by KPFA Radio.
(Saturday 7 PM, Sunday 2 AM ET)

Iain Murray, The Really Inconvenient Truths: Seven Environmental Catastrophes Liberals Don't Want You to Know About -- Because They Helped Cause Them
Author Iain Murray reveals how often liberal environmentalists have harmed the environment, how they have covered up this fact, and how conservatives can reclaim the environmental issue by stressing free- enterprise, private-property solutions. This event was hosted by The Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC.
(Saturday 9 PM, Sunday 1 PM and Monday 7 AM ET)

Chuck Hagel, America: Our Next Chapter
Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) expresses his thoughts on the war in Iraq and says that more should have been done leading up to the war to determine whether it was the right action to take. He examines America's position in the world and its future from an economic and environmental perspective. Senator Hagel spoke about his book at the Eisenhower Institute in Washington, DC.
(Saturday 11 PM, Sunday 4 PM ET)

Nothing posted though.

Writer's Blockhead ;)

Been working at my drumming mostly, and after a day full of lost parts and other headaches, the noggin is a bit weary.

I'll be out of the slump soon. There's a bit of an idea about Dumbya's foolish remarks in Israel this week, just letting it find it's proper vehicle, and not rushing it.
