What do Blackwater, Ahmed Chalabi, Philip Morris, General Electric, and AT&T have in common?
Charlie Black is a senior advisor deep inside the McCain campaign. What kind of affiliations could be informing his advice to McCain? Let us take a brief look:

Black has been a key player in the Washington scene for close to three decades, holding his first high level position as a senior advisor in the Reagan administration. Black then went on to be a senior advisor to Bush (41) and played a key role in the Bush (43) 2000 Presidential election campaign. He also has been heavily involved in a large number of Republican Congressional election campaigns. However the interesting connections in Black’s past relating to McCain’s campaign effort come from his extremely lucrative lobbying career.

Black held the chair position at BKSH & Associates until March of this year, when he finally made the decision to publicly step down as chairman and shift all of his energy to working in McCain’s Presidential campaign. (It was Charlie Black whom Obama referred to when stating that McCain had lobbyist running their firms from the campaign bus.) In the years that Black worked at BKSH, their client list contained the mega-giants of the American corporate world, giants such as Philip Morris, General Electric, AT&T and General Motors. While these connections are eye-opening to the extent that they may be a window into just how committed the McCain campaign is to distancing themselves from corporate America, it is not until one looks further down the list of Black’s former clients that it becomes a truly chilling experience.

The two clients on Black’s former client list that are the most troubling seem to be Blackwater and Ahmed Chalabi.

While Black’s work with Blackwater was relatively brief, it came at a pivotal moment in the life of the private military contractor’s existence. BKSH was the chief consultant for Blackwater during their testimony before Congress.

2. Black Is One Slimy Bastidge
This guy used to shill on CNN and is as dirty as the day is long. Kudos to MoveOn to expose all his connections and now lets hope the corporate media adds this to the list of promised "investigation" into Mr Straight Talk (coughbullshitcough).

IRC, Black was also tied into BCCI and Iran-Contra...funnelling money not only to the party or candidates, but to the many "undergroups"...the think tanks and PACs and other slush funds that paid off the pundits and the infamous K-Street project. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an Abramoff connection in there as well...all of these scum are connected to one another.

Gramps needs the lobbyists to fund his campaign...that's one of the few constituents he has who can write the big checks. Black's the conduit to the money...forcing him out would put Gramps in a world of hurt. Go MoveOn!!!!!

3. BKSH & Associates are upfront about what they do:
"BKSH & Associates Worldwide provides services to a select number of domestic, international, and multinational clients. The firm’s lobbyists, lawyers, communications professionals, foreign affairs specialists and research team design and execute programs that affect public policy and enhance business practices and development.

BKSH’s capabilities encompass a broad range of economic, social, domestic and international issues. Our professionals have managed “front-page” issues and have worked quietly on behind-the-scenes projects. Our mission can be as targeted as securing the inclusion or deletion of specific language in congressional legislation, or as broad as strengthening the bilateral relationship between a foreign country and the United States."

4. "Charles Black"? Never heard of him until now!
(At least not this particular Charles Black). But here's just one Google hit: http://mediamayhem.blogspot.com/2004_06_27_archive.html

There's another discussing going on at present here, as to whether or not DU is the place where most "pundits" (aka: "Talking Rectums") look to for leads. Frankly, I don't give a Rat's Rectum about those people. But DU is where I myself look to for out of the way information, as well as intelligent and informative discourse on it. I LOVE my DU, and probably hit this site a couple dozen times a day!

6. None of them manufacture appliances any more?
Sorry....probably not what you meant. :)

I've been following the news on GE appliances this weekend, since that's what most of mine are.
