1. We're being told we should be mad at China and India
It's all their fault. How dare their economies and their middle class grow, prosper and use the same resources that we do driving up demand and the prices :sarcasm:

2. I am surprised that there is such complacency with gas prices--
people are taking this quietly. I keep waiting for a strike or some dramatic boycott-type event to be in the news, but nothing.

One thing, among many, that I have been wondering about--how are school districts able to pay for fuel, which I assume is diesel (which here in Western WA State is now just over $4.80 per gallon), for all of the busses? My kids ride the bus a fair distance, yet I've not heard anything about the impact on state educational budgets.

3. As long as there is
A republican in the whitehouse, it will keep on going up. Bush has done everything in his power to make sure that big oil will come out on top, with profits so high and outrageous it makes the public sick!

We also need to find the democrats in congress who are backed by big oil money and get rid of them also. Until we have a president, and a congress, that will work for the people, we will continue to see gas and food prices go up as profits for the big corporations also go up! There is outrage in the country, but the MSM, which is owned by the same big corporations, does not report much on it. Sure they have a few comments on the high price, but that's about it. People are doing everything they can to cut expenses because of the high price of fuel, but they still can't be completely cut off from it. They need to get to work, doctors, shopping, etc. and the big oil companies know that. They have us over a barrel, and until we can get people in office to take charge and put an end to what I think is another Enron scandal, but bigger, nothing will change.

4. Denial narrative #2
Addicts in Denial:

#2: "It's the evil BushCo"

At least this thread is showing some signs of moving past denial into the next stage, anger: "where's the outrage," etc. However, it's time to move on through the other stages, get to acceptance and start dealing with the decline of oil and its consequences.
