Freepers REALLY Showing Their Hateful Selves Tonight (Senator Kennedy)
Edited on Tue May-20-08 10:30 PM by K8-EEE
I won't even repeat it but if I didn't already know they were totally disgusting human beings, the crap they've spewed about Senator Kennedy's illness would convince me in sort order.

Don't you love how so-called "Christians" just use that religion as an additional outlet to their hate, for instance, "may God have mercy on his soul before he condemns him to hell" type comments....truly these people represent the WORST in America

Just horrible people......but even so I wouldn't wish cancer on them or anyone. I can't imagine how CONSUMED by hatred you would have to be to get your jollies that way.

1. Be careful
If certain Republican politicans were beset by the same fate, you'd see much the same here, though probably not as widespread.

12. can you give examples ?
both sides get pretty nasty. there are also many decent people on both sides who do have compassion.

but when it comes to celebrating bad things that happen to someone from the other side, DU and Freepers are not that different.

The mods can't delete the stuff fast enough.

If you want to think DUers are comparable....I don't know how you can think that. It's certainly not my impression and I read both sites daily and have for years.

8. I admit to being a FR lurker!
Honestly they usually amuse me, but not today.

I don't really even know any Republicans much less Freeper type Republicans -- they're fascinating in a trainwreck way.

11. Some poeple thought
He shouldn't have been messing with animals or whatever -- that wasn't that bad. I've never seen ANYTHING on here that compares with the FR thread I just saw on Brain Cancer. I think they pulled it.....they've been pulling threads a lot apparently so I can only imagine what THOSE were like.

Hate all that "we're with God and you're going to hell" crap.

he got tombstoned. and moderators on Freep site are pulling the nasty threads on Kennedy.

DU gets a lot of threads locked or deleted also.

14. No I remember a VERY long thread that I posted on
re: condolences for the kid -- I missed the tombstoned guy. There they can't even control it -- it's like 80% of them.

I've been around here for years and let me tell you -- we don't have anything like that.

27. Were you here when
Tony Snow had a recurrence of his cancer?

I was just a lurker then and I had to think twice about joining DU.
Happy to say those who wrote horrible comments were soon berated by most DUers.
The Huffington Post was about the worst I have ever seen.

29. One DU'er argued that we all had the right to feel schadenfreude about Tony Snow's cancer
because, after all, bad people DESERVE to have bad things happen to them.

It was disgusting. I couldn't believe I was seeing another human being argue the right to be glad about someone having cancer. As if there's a Cancer Fairy that only visits evil people who "deserve" to get it. Yeah, and that's why Molly Ivins and Elizabeth Edwards got it, too. :sarcasm:

Sadly, the urge to delight in the misery of others is not just a freeper trait. I only wish it were. But, while they get their jollies out of the suffering of Dem figures, some DU'ers get their jollies out of the suffering of theirs.

17. Guess you missed the "get well" thread for RimJob
Apparently the Freeps did as well.... they might have learned a lesson. Even a piece of shit like their leader deserves a little compassion when he goes through a life threatening crisis. You would think they could apply the same standard to s Senator whose worst "crime" was surviving a Bush Crime Family jihad against his entire fucking family.

Somehow, I doubt that moderating Freak Republic is his top priority at the moment.

Then again, who knows..... this is a Freeper mind we're talking about, after all.

Edited on Tue May-20-08 10:58 PM by WillowTree
....when Tony Snow and Laura Ingraham were diagnosed with cancer. And when the Pope was in his final illness. And even when a young woman who didn't get to choose who her parents are or what her situation in life would be just wanted to have a private wedding.

Be careful, children. There is no justification for expecting better behavior from others than you exhibit yourselves.

30. Yep.
Rejoicing in the serious illnesses and chance misfortunes of others is an ugly trait, no matter who displays it. Too bad DU is not entirely immune.
