I heard Pickens late yesterday talking about oil prices
Pickens (Mesa) all those ventures and all the fame he has as the oil man and all that. Sounds to me like he is betting on 150 a barrel oil - this year.

Personally - this is already higher today than I thought it could get. And his Mesa groups - if he is betting this way - he has more money than god to see such a thing thru.

My humble opinion.

3. He is a very very scary guy.
He wiped out the Mellons - the Mellons for god's sake - in that Gulf oil takeover - and that was when he was first starting off in the business!!

Oh he could surely buy many countries - in cash.

5. You have to admire the spunk of the man - I do.
My calculation - he has bet about 20 billion dollars, probably more - in at least 9 major private deals on the run in oil. Talk speculation - he is the speculation. And he is THAT good.

It is funny to me in a way - that the "US Government" is going to try and clamp down on speculation - give me a break - they can't even agree on when to adjorn!!

He broke the mellons about 27 years ago - when he was just a youngster in the business, really.

You understand right - the MELLONs.

He has already broken up the sisters - the only thing he really has to deal with is us - the people of the United States - he hasn't dealt with us quite yet - but that is certainly coming.

2. It hit $135 in after hours trading, but is back to $134.28 now. $150 seems probable. nt
