was David Letterman referring to the Carlyle Group?

He was talking with Jimmy Buffett about his novel, which about a couple that check in at the Carlyle Hotel, with a pig disguised as a dog, and stay there for two years. Dave said "Not the first pig at the Carlyle."

Do you suppose he was referring to the Carlyle Group?

Because they meet there. And the members of the Group certainly qualify as pigs.

It's probably a reach, like you say, but I want Dave to have been commenting on the CG. :)
