What happened to COLA?
Funny how in all the discussion and excuses that I hear coming from the TV box and the noise making thingie in my car I hear nothing not one iota of mention of the previously natural economic happening of Cost of Living Allowance increases or increased wages of any kind.

I guess that just doesn't happen anymore or at least isn't talked about in public.

1. Thanks to Ed Rendell, PA State retirees got
a COLA increase in their pensions in 2007. This was the first COLA increase for them since 1973. ( I think prices have gone up some since them.)

Rendell used the first 6 years of his 2 terms as Governor denying contract raises and threatening massive layoffs and closings, and using the money saved to balance the state budget. He since granted several raises to State workers, and the COLA increase to retirees.

FWIW, the State Retirees pension is paid for by an investment fund made of deductions from workers pay invested by an independent board. It is not dependent on taxpayer money.

I will be 94 when we get the next COLA raise.

Ed Rendell wants to be vice president-he is a real asshole.

2. Congress never misses an opportunity to vote for a pay increase, do they?
Pay increases and cheap health care! Great job, if you can get it.

I'm not saying that there is any conspiracy just a lack of complete discussion of the issue.... oh I should be used to it by now.

5. You just have a longer memory than...
...the GOP-controlled media expects you to.

You're supposed to be concerned with American Idle, not real issues.

7. I actually don't watch.
But, I did write a "review" of it, which you are welcome to fix, add to, correct, etc. (Truthiness Encyclopedia),

Reality shows are the make-up-wearing trollops that we have to put up with because, even though they remind us of our collective combover, they have enough money to make us pretend that we're really not that old or way past our prime.

Wait, what were we talking about?
