When I came to DU in 2003, I enjoyed your posts and told my husband about your website, Truthout. He is a regular subscriber and reads your articles every day.

I became a DUer after I read "The Greatest Sedition Is Silence" and interviewed you. That will be 5 years here pretty soon. :toast:

I did a search for my posts in the archives. May 21, 2001 was the first one I could find, so that's where I mark it.

2002. right after the selection.

I think at some point the thing only does years.

I date from April of 2001 -- That was the date of an article I wrote for the front page (remember when we did that?). I know that I was here earlier, because I remember reading the first-hand accounts (were those written by Skinner?) of the disruptions of Bush's inaugural parade.

While searching, I came across something that I wrote in December 2001, and the last sentence proved to be rather prophetic in 2004.

Next month will be my 7th year anniversary as well. We were right all along, but trying to prove it and not look like conspiracy nuts has been a losing proposition until recently.

The people out there understand need and the basic elements of life. Until this war encompassed those issues, many have been unwilling to see the evidence that has amassed over the past 7 years. Blind and afraid, the people refused to accept what was right before their eyes.

We're not quite at the point we should be in outrage, but we're getting closer every day. Especially now that we're only 7 months, 29 days from the inauguration of a new president. We must wade through the muck and mire just a little while longer.

Kind of fucked up to think about all the shit the world has gone through in that time, and the twists and turns in my own life.

Here's to better days ahead, and a big ass celebration in November! :toast:
