How Much Extra Oil Has The U.S. Used Since The Start Of This Iraq ......
war (i.e.,the extra amount of oil we have used since 2002 over and above normal due to the Iraq war).

Has anybody calculated that amount? How much has this contributed to the run up in oil prices?

2. Irrelevant in Bushco's mind
as long as they get their 75% cut of Iraq's oil, they'll be happy with all of the resources spent to steal it.

3. My impression was that the sudden increase in China usage...
by citizens purchasing autos, was responsible for some of the demand.

I'm surprised people haven't been pushing for car pooling. You never hear that subject being discussed. Shoot, if you had 4 people going to the same workplace, it would sure save on the wear and tear/gas costs.

4. According to this, the US military uses 144 million barrels of oil per year (2004).
http://www.energybulletin.net/13199.html

"The US military is the biggest purchaser of oil in the world."

“The Army calculated that it would burn 40 million gallons of fuel in three weeks of combat in Iraq, an amount equivalent to the gasoline consumed by all Allied armies combined during the four years of World War I.” <1>

"According to the Defence Logistic Agency’s Web Site, as of November 2005 more than 2.1 billion gallons of fuel have been used in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (since October 2001; war on terrorism in Afghanistan)."
