The 'Stealth' car:
We were at Lowe's today.
In the Prius.
I wanted to back out of our parking spot, but there was a lady standing directly behind the car, talking to someone.
I just caught a glimpse of her long hair (below shoulder) in my peripheral vision.

I lowered my window.
"Lady? I need to back out."
She moved to one side.
I backed out and turned to thank her.
It was a guy.

"Dang! I didn't hear you. Whut kinda car IS that?"
And I explained.

1. Don't you just love the quiet engine! I heard that they are going
to make hybrid cars a bit louder so that the deaf can know how to get around in high traffic areas.

I'm all for helping the deaf.

But, we really do need a lot less noise in this world.

2. Just wait around,
when they get so popular that anybody can afford one, some "loud*ss thumper/rapper" will get one and you will hear a block away, until then, I'm gonna enjoy the peace and quit.

3. Making it louder does nothing for the Deaf.

I think you mean the blind.
