SURE you can see his medical records.... but LOOK QUICK!!
Edited on Fri May-23-08 06:35 AM by annabanana
Get this. There are "preconditions" for access to McCain's medical records!
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/05/22/mccain-set-to-release-medical-records-under-shady-circumstances/

UPDATE: It’s even sketchier than I first thought. Via dKos, these are the circumstances under which McCain will make his records “public”:

:bluebox: only a small, select group of reporters will have access to the records in a secure room in Phoenix, AZ
:bluebox: access is limited to only three hours, between 7 and 10 AM on Friday
:bluebox: no copying of the records is permitted
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/5/22/122053/300/229/520477

Nothing to see here, people. Move along.

So look quick! And if you're one of the "select group of reporters" I sure hope you have a photographic memory.

IN FACT.. More than 1/2 hour of your "looking time" is already up!!

7. Took me a minute to find it

BTW, McCain is also finally releasing his medical records--after postponing doing so for a year. But he's making these records available for only three hours on a Friday before a holiday weekend--to guarantee less media coverage--and his campaign has sort of banned New York Times reporter Lawrence Altman, one of the leading medical reporters in journalism, from reviewing the records. Only a handful of media outfits selected by the campaign will be permitted to send reporters to a conference room in Phoenix to examine the records. And the Times was not chosen. None of the reporters will be allowed to make any copies of the records.

4. I suppose the reporters aren't smart enough to work together?
They know it's 400 pages, why not separate documents into smaller pieces, take notes, then compare notes? I know it goes against the whole getting the first scoop concept, but it's better than not getting any information at all.

Too naive? Too logical?

5. It doesn't go against the "first scoop" concept
It goes against the "speak no ill of Republicans" concept.
