What does a bankrupt bank look like?
Perhaps it looks like this:

Poster Okeven at Ticker Forum: IndyMac (IMB)

Rumors are flying that they are having trouble funding loans and will be BK before weeks end. Here are two posts from the broker outpost:

Quote:
I've heard from two different sources that Indy Mac may be days away from BK. And has major funding issues. With there stock under 2.00 I'm not surprised.I'm flipping the few files I have with them to be on the safe side.

Quote:
From what I was told by one of their employee's. Their current debt and loan portfolio performance has prevented a sale. From what I was told they are running out of capital quick and with their credit rating at junk. They cannot borrow any additional capital.

Mortgage Implode does not have anything either way about them. I just thought I would post this since these mortgage lender rumors have a strong tendency to be damn accurate.

Since that post was made, First Bank of Kansas City was mentioned later in the thread as one of the possible banks that would be closed by the FDIC of this Memorial Day weekend. If in fact this is the case, many of those employees will come to work Tuesday morning only to be turned away at the door.

If you bank in KC, you might want to give your bank a close look right now - just in case.
