GOP strategist: Democrats outmaneuver GOP over GI Bill
As a bill that would expand education benefits for veterans has become a flash point in the early sparring between Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, some Republicans admit that the Democrats may have outmaneuvered them on the issue.

"I think John McCain has been outmaneuvered," said GOP strategist Ed Rollins, who had served as former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign chairman. "Sometimes in politics, there are intellectual issues and emotional issues."

"John McCain is going against veterans groups; he is going against a constituency that should be his. ... But I think he is on the wrong side of this issue," Rollins said. "A lot of Republicans are voting for this, and I think to a certain extent as it moves forward there will be more and more. There will be tremendous pressure from veterans groups past and present and I think you will see a lot of bipartisan support for this as well."

Over the weekend, Obama, who appears to be the likely Democratic nominee, again tried to tie McCain to Bush by noting that both of them oppose the GI Bill expansion.

"I revere our soldiers and want to make sure they are being treated with honor and respect," Obama said Saturday in Puerto Rico. "I think the GI Bill is one way for us to do that, and I hope that John McCain and George Bush decide they believe the same thing."

1. That last picture...
OMG! The horror!

They could be mirror images of each other if McCain had more hair.

This must end. Both of them must go.

2. It would be nice to hear the mittster's views on this...
Romney may wind up the VP nom for mCcain... to be honest, HE worries me more than mCcain. It would be GREAT if he agreed with mCcain on this bill to aid our Vets. AMERICA would not be pleased with THAT! It would be even better if he disagreed with mCcain on this same legislation, the mCcain campaign would not be pleased with that....either way a lose-lose for the mittster!

3. Bwahaha "outmaneuver" isn't even the word...
"Smoked", "Pwned", "Spanked", "Exposed", all come to mind... The minute I heard about this bill I knew how it would play out. Sheer political genius with a NOBLE end!

GOBAMA :bounce:

I can just hear the debates now... Can't wait! :bounce:

When I see them together it just give me a warm feeling all over, what a nice person and a great diplomat. I sure hope Barack finds a spot for the Governor in his new administration.
