Iraqis Claim Marines Are Pushing Christianity In Fallujah
Iraqis claim Marines are pushing Christianity in Fallujah

U.S. Marines are handing out
this coin, imprinted with a
Gospel verse, to Fallujah
residents.

FALLUJAH, Iraq — At the western entrance to the Iraqi city of Fallujah Tuesday, Muamar Anad handed his residence badge to the U.S. Marines guarding the city. They checked to be sure that he was a city resident, and when they were done, Anad said, a Marine slipped a coin out of his pocket and put it in his hand.

Out of fear, he accepted it, Anad said. When he was inside the city, the college student said, he looked at one side of the coin. "Where will you spend eternity?" it asked.

He flipped it over, and on the other side it read, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16."

"They are trying to convert us to Christianity," said Anad, a Sunni Muslim like most residents of this city in Anbar province. At home, he told his story, and his relatives echoed their disapproval: They'd been given the coins, too, he said.

- Why I'm sure that all the Iraqis need to do, is to look around their country (what's left of it) and see all that good 'ol "Christian Love" that's been spread around for the last 5 years and they'll convert right away. Why I'm almost sure of it......

I still don't understand why the coins are being handed out.

Who authorized this and who made the fucking things?

18. I really doubt it was "authorized"
as for who made the coins, probably a church or church-goer somewhere in the states. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out and I'm very curious as to where they came from.

34. I wouldn't put it past this particular administration...
...to authorize it something like this.

But, I also expect there to be this big show of denial, destroyed evidence, accusations of "Christian-bashing", more denial, a convenient distraction, finger pointing, then a bigger, more important story to push it out of everyone's minds.

Since when is proselytizing the civilian population part of the mission for our military? I can't imagine HOW the W.H. can spin that but sure as hell, they'll try with perfectly logicalreasoning.:sarcasm:

15. It is a gross violation of free will
to attempt to impose your 'beliefs' on someone else. Fine to offer information when people ask for it. But people who strive to sell their concept of religion are -- in my view -- acting out of profound insecurity about the validity of their own religion.

If you know the reality of Spirit, you have no need to try and sell other people. Not that this basic reality would make any impression on the republicon homelander so-called 'christians' peddling their jaundiced views.

17. Proselytizing is always an insult
It implies that the beliefs of the person being proselytized are defective, wrong, or poorly thought out -- and that's an insult.

When people try to proselytize me, I always tell them that they have insulted me and therefore their own religious beliefs are suspect. I have my own beliefs. When they ask me "Have you . . . " they are implying that I haven't thought about these things or that I've screwed up. That's an insult.

Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Moonies, Christians, and Scientologists are the most offensive ones in this regard.

19. They consider it "humiliating" when someone attempts to convert them to Christianity.
"Now residents of the city are abuzz that some Americans whom they consider occupiers are also acting as Christian missionaries. Residents said some Marines at the western entrance to their city have been passing out the coins for two days in what they call a "humiliating" attempt to convert them to Christianity."

22. How to get the proselytizers off your doorstep
A gay friend of mine opened his door the other day to find two cute Mormon boys peddling their cult nonsense. He let them go one for a few minutes and asked them their churchss opinion on homosexuality. He let them get a few sentences out and then asked them "So I guess that means a blow job is out of the question?"

They were gone in seconds.

would go for the blow job. Nothing says "hornier than hell" like a sexually-repressed Christian. Why do you think the Mormons send the boys out in pairs -- and why do you think the "missionaries" can never be alone, not even for a minute?

You think that if the Japanese staffed Iwo Jima with geishas offering free sexual favors they would've driven the Americans off the island and eventually won WW2?
