* They've lied us into war, demonstrably and verifiably.
* They've engaged in criminal electioneering.
* They've spied on us illegally.
* They've created a propaganda appartus to promote a war based on lise.
* They've violated the Geneva Conventions, tortured prisoners and covered it up.
* They've opened Gulags in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo.
* They've allowed a major American city to drown.
* They've politicized and ruined every federal agency.
* They've turned federal regulatory functions over to corporations.
* They've done a whole bunch more than I'm neglecting to list.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE, NANCY AND HARRY? I swear, they could film Bush and Cheney personally planting bombs in buildings, and they'd still be in office.

1. Committed treason by outing a covert CIA agent...
for political reasons. That's a biggie.

4. Become popular...It is great to run against a POTUS with a
28% approval rating. If it shot up to 55%, he and the rest of his lot would be gone.

5. I still believe they have some huge threat hanging over Congress
And anyone else who dares come after them for their crimes.

Any other time in history these bastards would have been run out of town and thrown in orange jumpsuits.

6. What does it take?
Two thirds majority in the Senate, to get technical.

One could certainly draft articles in the House, and perhaps even get them passed, but its plainly obvious that Reid would never get the votes to convict unless some staggering evidence of criminal activity came forward. Something so beyond the realm of deniability that at least 16 Senate Republicans would look extremely foolish not to condemn in the harshest terms. The GOP used impeachment proceedings against President Clinton in an effort to deny him a favorable legacy, and that didn't work out too well. In current circumstances, the Bush Administration has damaged itself to the extent that Articles of Impeachment would be more or less icing on the cake. Very time consuming icing, at that. Additionally, any threats of impeachment as "diminishing his legacy" against a President who has messianic delusions of being vindicated by history is rather pointless.

10. Let's see,
Eat live babies on stage at the Oprah Winfrey show.
Hold a puppy stomping contest in the Whitehouse Rose Garden.
Shoot an elderly man in the face while drunk.
Take a dump on the carpet in the Oval Office.
Make the U.S. the most hated country on the planet.

Nope I can't think of anything.
