12. Not quite! McCain's daughter is wearing a real kaffiyeh
while Ray's scarf is paisley. I guess that means McCain has to start fighting terra in his own family first.

There was a real fashion rage in the 80s for the kaffiyeh worn as a neck scarf, especially in the frigid northeast. We knew it was made in the Middle East and we didn't give a shit. It was warm and it was beautiful and we wore it proudly.

Screaming about terrorism over a piece of cloth is as reprehensible as screaming one's patriotism over idolizing another.

Too bad it's summer and temperatures here in the desert are already in the 90s. I'd like to dig my kaffiyeh out and start wearing it, just to poke a stick into stupid people's faces.

and found it described as as as "Jewish Israeli scarf" at a site called israelmilitary.com .

How am I supposed to reconcile THAT with the latest news that it's terror-wear? I'm so confused. I want a donut, a good old American donut, to ease my confusion. Is there no one in the fried dough business I can turn to in my hour of need?
