Looting in Iowa. Bonjour?
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080531/NEWS/80531004
A man who was caught with valuables believed to be taken from the Parkersburg tornado was arrested Friday and charged with fourth-degree theft, the Butler County Sheriff announced.

Lloyd Bonjour, 68, of the north-central Iowa town of Dows, allegedly had several items taken from destroyed homes in the hardest-hit area of Parkersburg. The items included furniture, a computer monitor and a television, authorities said.

Butler County was declared a federal disaster area shortly after the May 25 twister ripped through Parkersburg and New Hartford, killing seven and destroying hundreds of homes and businesses. Residents have spent the past week picking through the wreckage.

"These type of activities, to include theft, and any attempt to scam residents will not be tolerated," Butler County Sheriff Jason Johnson said in a statement. "Butler County has a zero-tolerance policy toward any of these activities."

1. Something immediately obvious ...
The Looter is white, and hence a lesson for those who insist such crimes are the exclusive province of non-whites ....

There is a good chance someone could buy such items from their rightful owners, given the circumstances of the events ... It seems such a pity to reduce one's own self worth by committing petty theft in order to have a TV ... He gains little and loses OH so much more in integrity ....

2. Notice:
============================
The Looter is white,
============================
so he was just "finding," he wasn't "looting."

These fine points are important, people -- try to pay attention. :sarcasm:

3. Although this was Iowa. I thought his name was rather funny.
I am glad that they caught him and published this.

4. Okay.
Didn't strike me as odd at all because there are so many French, German, Czech, Dutch, English names here (Iowa).

5. Bon jour! Good day! I am here to loot your stuff!
Bonjour=good day, that is the humor, not the name in particular but in association with the looting. I grew up in mid-west and am away of the euro-immigrants and names, though was further north in area when Germans and Norwegians settled.
