Hydroxicut recalled. If you are taking it, stop taking it right away!!
Apparently, this product is causing liver damage and has already caused at least one death. The FDA is warning people to stop taking this weight loss product immediately. There are a lot of different things in this pill, and they aren't sure which ones are the culprits in causing damage to the liver. So, I know this is short, but.... please do not use hydroxicut. and i would hazard a guess that the other weight loss pills i've seen being peddled on tv aren't any safer.

6. Well, not quite
You'll leave your skeleton behind and it weighs a few pounds.

However, it seems the promises of dramatic weight loss were accurate.

20. It's getting very hard to get ephedrine
and I don't like the herbal crap. The prices for it has gone out of site wherever you can get it.
Hydroxycut used to have ephedrine in it until the drug warriors made them, and the others, take out the ephedrine. It is ironic that ephedrine is effective and beneficial but is the demon ingredient in crystal meth.

25. no, it's easy
bronkaid is the best source. it's OTC.

fwiw, even when ephedrine was "banned" (by statist joe biden and others in congress. they were later overturned because their idiotic move ran counter to DSHEA), it was never illegal to purchase, possess or use it as a dietary supplement

it was illegal to sell and market it as a dietary supplement

bronkaid is an OTC asthma med.

one can also use primatene tablets.

iirc, one is ephedrine hydrochloride, and the other is ephedrine sulfate.

5. My assistant has been taking it for 3 weeks. I told her to STOP.
She has previously taken it and didn't have problems, but she has numerous health issues so IMHO the last thing in the world she needs is an iffy medication.

9. A couple of years ago
I picked up a bottle of some kind of weight loss pills and took it to the pharmacy to pay for it. A female pharmacist picked it up and looked at it and said "please don't buy this." I was shocked and asked why and she said "this stuff will destroy your body." Needless to say I put it back on the shelf and never considered it again.

11. I never saw how drinking black coffee wouldn't be as effective.
This is all about appetite suppression through stimulants: drink coffee, take a pill, snort a line of speed, all the same to different degrees.

Well, she'll probably say it.

14. Review by a user
"One week after taking hydroxycut, my vision was blurred, I developed pounding headaches especially at base of my neck and behind my eyes; also had trouble sleeping, and had excessive sweating and leg cramps. I stopped taking this product 2 days ago and am still unable to feel "normal". Sure you lose your appetite but that's only because you're praying for death. I have let everyone I know NOT to use it. I think it's a dangerous product."

Sounds like a wonderful product. Anything that is dropping weight several pounds in a week is causing severe dehydration. You simply cannot loose fat, which is 3500 calories per pound, that fast without stopping eating. Even fasting, you would only loose a pound of fat every couple days.

16. Using ANY of these OTC weight-loss products is risky, IMHO
I'd be willing to bet that many of these products are either useless or harmful. With no FDA regulation, the manufacturers can say whatever they want on the labels.

17. We just left our Rottweiler
at the hospital, being treated for liver failure. One of the first clues that something was wrong was her losing weight quickly. So, yeah, the ads are right, in a way...liver failure causes weight loss! We don't know what caused it, possibly a mold toxin, but the prognosis is good (fingers crossed)

23. Someone's already made the leap that it's hydroxycitric acid.
Solely because of an article that was published a month ago alleging that it can cause liver damage.
