Poll question: Elite Athletes or Extreme Exercisers and Disease

This is another one of those posts that may not be serious enough for GD, but which I knew would get no serious response in the lounge, so I will leave it to the Moderators' discretion as to where it belongs.

I'm fascinated by this question of whether elite athletes or extremely active (exercising more than two or three hours a day) people are able to evade certain diseases. This is a very unofficial, informal poll.

1. There have been several ultramarathoners and ironman champs

who have died of rare brain cancers and heart attacks...the drop dead variety....

I'd post links but I just got back from a 3 hour bike ride and am totally buzzed on the endorphins....

no kidding.
