My boyfriend had an interesting idea on water-boarding...
Edited on Sat May-02-09 08:06 PM by Blue Belle
He wants to set up a "water-boarding" stand. He wants to get a big sign that says, "Is Water-boarding torture? You decide!" and give the torture deniers a chance to actually have it done to them. If only he knew how to do it (i'm sure directions are posted here on the internets somewhere), although, I doubt he would ever have to learn though because no one would try it. He's not going to do it - I just thought it was intersting.

1. Like the commercialled Jack In The Box nugget tester who charged $25,000/nugget...
Not a lot of takers, but it only takes 1.

2. The liability insurance would be astronomical...
There is a very good chance that something "goes south" when waterboarding someone, the victim can experience any number of unintended consequences, starting with heart attacks and strokes, convulsions that lead to choking to death, etc, etc, etc.

4. Get an airtight release. There wouldn't be any takers, but reading the release will help.
If they would have to read the list of what could go wrong, and sign off on all that, it might dawn on the clowns what the problem is. I would at least like to seen Hannity read and decide to sign or chicken out on the tv.

7. Despite the liability release forms, etc
and even if you had paramedics standing by...

one death and you are still looking at a large civil suit and potential criminal charges.

I have wondered about these people that do it for the media types that are looking to have a story to write or video to narrate. I'm sure they feel perfectly safe about doing it, but I also suspect they are doing the "light version" and they still have doctors standing by.

9. Releases are garbage. Any second year law student can get a release tossed
A deal is never a deal.

3. You'd have a few takers
than you'd have a few lawsuits because IT IS FUCKING TORTURE.

5. Well, water-boarding *is* fun, according to Coulter.
So instead of a dunk tank at your next carnival, set up a water-boarding booth! Your organization will be rolling in dough!
