2. yes and no... he thought bush sr was the anti-christ
Edited on Sun May-03-09 06:07 AM by madrchsod
bush was forced upon ronny during the start of the convention. they did`t like each other and of course did`t trust each other. nancy loathed the bushes and after ron was shot and their closest friend in the whitehouse died she trusted no one around ronny. the boys in the basement started running the government after ron was shot.

the present day christian republican party would be to extreme for ronny. after all, he never went to church

4. No, but he wouldn't recognize Nancy either.
Reagan, if still alive today, would be a near vegetable.

5. Are We Hearing From The Other "Elders"??
The other day I saw Bob Dole testifying on behalf of Kathleen Sebeleus. I wonder what his thoughts are about the current situation of the party. Those who remember the 1976 campaign won't remember the "cuddly and funny" Bob Dole, but the party hatchetman who put a lot of venom into both the campaign and political dialogue and opened the door for Raygun.

Or how about Poppy booooosh. He was Raygun's veep and surely is qualified to speak about how the party has changed since those halcyon days. Of course he couldn't dare speak the truth unless he wanted to throw his kid and his own legacy under the bus.

Raygun saw where his party was headed. He welcome the fundies with open arms at Bob Jones University. He fed the wingnuts plenty of red meat with his "Evil Empire" crap (further amplified by boooooshie) and letting Wall Street run rampant (anyone remember Michael Milken?).

The great expectorator would probably be upset that his party's big tent has shreaded, but that also was a part of his "legacy"...creating the parallel universe most of them now live in.

7. He would whore for the party's most recent incarnation, too.
His career in national politics was always founded on being on the side of the wealthy in our class war. Reagan might recognize today's party; he might not. It wouldn't matter because he wouldn't care, and neither would Nancy.

9. Interesting question
Would Ron recognize today's party?

No, he would not. The secessionist talk and marriage to the religious right would probably trouble him. He'd still be a republican though.
