For lease only.:(

The Mini Electric, on the other hand, sacrifices the entire back seat for its battery pack. That allows it to go 100 miles on a charge--sufficient for most daily driving. But two of its advantages are that you never go to a gas station and there are no emissions from the car itself.
Meanwhile, there's yet another technology in the mix--what General Motors calls a range-extended electric vehicle or what engineers call a series hybrid (as opposed to a parallel hybrid). In that case, an internal combustion engine does nothing but charge the batteries that propel the car.

How do you post a YouTube video on this site. I've been to help, options, and html help, Nothing!!! How are you guys doing it?

TD.

3. LOL, I usually don't have much luck with threads either
I think the Mini is a cute car but it isn't really practical for most people, especially with no backseat.

4. Very cute car. Unfortunately only a commuter car for now.
But these are just in the test stage. I believe that MINI only has them out for testing, & once the lease is up, they will take them back & evalutate the data. Hopefully this will lead to one with an increased range.

6. what? no automatic transmission?
I could drive a manual but 100 miles a charge would get me nowhere -

7. EVs don't need transmissions. No gears to 100 mph.
The Tesla Roadster has 2 gears, but it's the only EV I know of with a transmission. Just step on the pedal and the car takes off. The only "gears" would be fwd & rev.

As Steven Colbert says: Sooooo.... enjoy that!;)
